Me by Me

I suppose that you could say that I am responsible (to blame?) for all this. Just after my 14th birthday a group of my school friends and I started playing D&D (our chemistry teacher had been bought a set of the rules by his wife). A week later we invited my younger brother, Nicholas, to join us (we needed a Cleric), and a few months later his friend Matthew was added to our number. After a couple of years Nick and Matt started a group with their own friends - and when my own group disbanded in the 6th form, I was absorbed into that group which went on to form Mage Blade. I play almost any game - and will happily play almost any character type - though for some reason I have a dislike of psychopaths in modern or near future systems. I ref. several systems, Castle Falkenstein - Saga, but predominately AD&D. Towards the end of 1997 Jenn and I became involved in the founding of a roleplaying club at a nearby school (the Royal Masonic School, in Rickmansworth), the pair of us, with the help of Matthew, and another friend named Karim, we have introduced them to the delights of AD&D, Call of Cthulhu and Shadowrun. They managed to surprise themselves, though not us, in 1999 by reaching the national finals of the RPGA School's AD&D competition. Role playing has been my major hobby since the age of 14, and it is through Mage Blade that I met my fiancée Jenny, she's Traycie's sister. Early in '99 Jenn & I had our first child, Luke, and now we are discovering the joys of watching him grow up.
